April

Well, it's turned out to be an interesting month! I recovered from my trip, buckled down trying to finish my resume, apply for jobs, and get my teacher's portfolio up to snuff, and then we had friends from out of town come visit yesterday. We spent all day out and about; we wandered around Charleston downtown, and spent some time at the beach, and time at home chatting.

I hadn't seen her in decades... we went to elementary school together, and only had seen each other maybe twice since then, one of which was at her wedding, so we didn't really have time to talk. It was wonderful to see her. It was even better to get to know her husband, and have both of them get to know -my- husband, and to discover that we all have loads in common and the same sense of humor, and that we'd all be great friends and hang out all the time if we lived in the same place. Very very cool.

I've posted just a few pictures from the day. There are more of them on my account on flickr, mostly because I don't have the option here of uploading en mass and it was taking waaaay too long. So feel free to jump on over there as well and take a look.

Coming up: a family reunion on the beach. My cousin lives here in town, and her immediate family (which now totals 13 people) are renting a beach house for the week. My folks are coming down on Thursday night next week for the weekend, and we'll all be chillin' out on the Isle of Palms. Hopefully there'll be some good pix.

Aren't friends like that just the very best kind? The ones you hardly ever get to SEE but you connect like you never missed a beat. I've got a few like that, and I really treasure them. :D
